Too much good stuff, sitting in the dark

Yolo Storage Deals began with a simple problem. Too many useful and interesting things were sitting in storage instead of being used.

Some of it was new in the box. Some of it had been packed away for years. All of it was costing money every month to keep in the dark, and none of it was doing anybody any good in there.

So we are building a better way to organize, price, list, and sell it, and a local place where other people can do the same. That is the whole idea. It starts with our own units because that is what we have in front of us.

We are not a liquidation warehouse and we are not a thrift store. We are a small local operation that photographs real items, describes them honestly, prices them based on what things actually sell for, and gets them to somebody nearby who wants them.

If it is worth having, somebody nearby probably wants it.

The Facebook group is the other half of it. Plenty of people around here have a garage full of things they would sell if listing them were not such a chore. The group gives them somewhere local to post, and gives the rest of us somewhere to look first before buying new.

It is early. The shop is still filling up. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend to be bigger than we are.
