FAQ Questions and safety

Questions, answered plainly

Where are you located?

Woodland, California. We serve Yolo County and the greater Sacramento area. Pickup is arranged locally at a time we agree on. We do not have a storefront you can walk into.

Can I post my own items?

Yes, in the Facebook group. It is free, and the transaction stays between you and your buyer. Include real photos of the actual item, the price, the condition, and your general pickup area. Posts missing those get removed.

Do you ship?

On smaller items where shipping makes sense. Each listing says whether it ships and who covers the cost. Furniture and large appliances stay local.

Do you deliver?

Sometimes, item by item, usually for larger things and usually close to home. If delivery is offered it is written on the listing. If it is not written there, assume pickup.

Are items tested?

Some are, some are not, and the listing tells you which. If it says untested, it means we have not powered it on or verified that it works, and it is priced that way. We do not describe an untested item as working.

Can I make an offer?

Yes, on most things. Send a number. If it does not work we will say so, and sometimes we will counter. Lowball offers get a polite no rather than an argument.

How long will you hold an item?

We will hold something for a short, specific window once a pickup time is set. We do not hold items open ended while somebody thinks about it, because that is how things sit for three weeks and sell to nobody.

What payment methods are accepted?

For local pickup, cash or a common app like Venmo, Zelle or Cash App at the time of pickup. For shipped items, payment goes through the marketplace the item is listed on. We will never ask you to pay with gift cards, and we will never send you an unfamiliar payment link.

Do you accept returns?

Secondhand items are generally sold as is, which is why we describe condition carefully and answer questions before you buy. That said, if an item shows up materially different from how it was described, tell us and we will make it right. Marketplace purchases also follow that marketplace's own policies.

Can you sell something for me?

Possibly. We are building out consignment and selling assistance now and are taking it case by case. Tell us what you have on the Sell With Us page. Sending that form does not guarantee we will take it.

How do I report a suspicious listing or message?

Report it inside the Facebook group so the admins see it, and use Facebook's own report tool for the account itself. You can also contact us directly. Scam posts and scam accounts get removed from the group.

Safety Buying and selling locally

Keep yourself out of trouble

Most people buying and selling locally are completely normal. The handful who are not all use the same few tricks. These rules cost you nothing and save a lot of grief.

The Facebook group gives you a local community to buy and sell in. It does not guarantee or insure transactions between members. When two members deal with each other, that deal is between them.

  • Never send a verification code. Nobody legitimate needs a code texted to your phone. That is an account takeover, every single time.
  • Do not pay with gift cards. There is no honest reason for a seller to ask for one.
  • Do not use unfamiliar payment links. If you did not go to the app yourself, do not trust the link somebody sent you.
  • Confirm the condition before you pay. Look at the item. Plug it in if that is possible. Ask your questions before the money moves.
  • Meet somewhere agreed and public. Daylight, a busy parking lot, or a police department exchange zone. Bring somebody with you for a large or expensive pickup.
  • Trust the feeling. If a deal feels wrong, walk. There is always another couch.
